Week 4: cul-de-sac by John Cariani

cul-de-sac

By John Cariani

Directed by Dougie Robbins

Featuring Christopher Cuevas, Samuel Frye, Reza Mirjalili, Joanna Romero, Grace Sallee and Michaela Winter

On a lovely spring evening, all is not quite what it seems for three couples living on the same suburban cul-de-sac. Couple #1 never had children and realize that they might not be all they hoped they'd be. Couple #2 have kids but they aren't quite what they hoped they'd be, either. Couple #3 seem to be all that Couples #1 and 2 ever wanted to be: They have two wonderful kids, shiny new cars, and their grass is very green. But life is far from perfect for Couple #3. This is a shocking comedy that explores the extreme measures people take to achieve their dreams or find happiness or find their way to what they once were.

Directed by Nick Cartusciello

Featuring Jean Gordon, Alicia Lion Januzzi and Hannah Turell

Bessie, Alice, and Margaret have two things in common: they are married to George Joseph Smith, and they are dead. Surfacing from the bathtubs they were drowned in, the three breathless brides gather evidence against their womanizing, murderous husband by reliving the shocking events leading up to their deaths. Week 1: Witch by Jen Silverman

Witch

By Jen Silverman

Directed by Nick Cartusciello
Featuring Al Matsu, Billy Oxendine, Grace Sallee, Dakota Scarborough and Vaibhav Taparia

A charming devil arrives in the quiet village of Edmonton to bargain for the souls of its residents in exchange for their darkest wishes. Elizabeth should be his easiest target, having been labeled a “witch” and cast out by the town, but her soul is not so readily bought. As the devil returns to convince her – and then returns again – unexpected passions flare, alliances are formed, and the village is forever changed. An inventive retelling of a Jacobean drama, this sharp, subversive fable debates how much our souls are worth when hope is hard to come by.
